Tenure Track Faculty (#17007)

Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON), Bloomington campus invites nominations and applications for four full-time, tenure track faculty positions at the assistant/associate professor rank. Research, teaching, and service are expectations for appointment to the tenure track. The preferred academic fields for these positions are: Registered Nurse (RN) in community or rural health, RN critical care, RN general medical surgical nursing; Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in family or psych mental health.

Qualified applicants must hold an earned doctorate in nursing or a doctorate in a related field with a master’s degree in nursing, with teaching experience in undergraduate and/or graduate academic fields noted above. Candidates should have an established program of research with potential for extramural funding. Research expertise in data sciences and analytics; or education, training and certification; or policy analysis; or translational research preferred. The successful candidate must be licensed or eligible for Indiana RN or advanced practice licensure, with certification in specialty preferred. Appointment to academic rank and salary dependent on evidence for scholarly, teaching, and service achievements.

Manager, Nursing Learning Resource Center and Lecturer (#18002)

Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) Bloomington campus invites exceptional candidates to apply for the position of Manager, Nurse Learning Resources Center (NLRC). The Manager is responsible for directing, developing, implementing, and evaluating operations and processes for all student, faculty, and stakeholder activities in the NLRC and to ensure that the skills lab provides exceptional operational service to students, faculty, and stakeholders, as these activities support the mission of IUSON, the campus, and the University. The Manager plans, organizes, and directs the overall operations of the NLRC in creating a learning environment that facilitates students in both learning about and demonstrating essential nursing assessments and skills. The successful candidate will be appointed at the academic rank of Lecturer.

Responsibilities include: Directing collaboration with the faculty in teaching and conducting skills check-offs for all lab sections, including remedial instruction for students, where necessary; preparing supplies and equipment for all lab section classes, demonstrations, competency testing, mid-term, and final examinations; the sharing of teaching responsibilities with instructors; the writing and designing of patient care scenarios, mini-simulations, and self-study modules with accompanying mock patient charts and paperwork; the testing and maintenance of equipment to keep it in top working order; maintaining the supplies inventory; providing in-services and orientation for new equipment and for the lab in general; and hiring and supervising student NLRC workers. The Manager may also be called on to teach one to two sections during the academic year, based on the needs of the School and the expertise of the Manager.

Qualified applicants must hold a Master of Science Degree in Nursing and have experience as a BSN-RN in an acute care setting. Previous experience in a health care educational setting with experience teaching in a nursing skills lab is preferred. The successful candidate must be licensed or eligible for Indiana RN Licensure.
